Obituary:Jerry Ray Bangert, 65, of Laurel, Montana passed away in his home on May 20, 2012.
Jerry was born in Billings, Montana on February 11, 1947. He was the second child of Henry and Mary Bangert.
He grew up in Laurel and graduated from Laurel Senior School. Jerry served in the Army during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged in 1972. Jerry then returned to Laurel and worked for the Burlington Northern Railroad. He received his Certification for Carmen and took great pride in his work. He met and married Bernice Jones on July 22, 1977. They were married for ten years and had three children Jeremy, Jenni and Jared. Jerry lived in Billings for twenty years before returning to Laurel to be closer to his mother Mary and Brother Bob.
During his life he enjoyed many things. Some of which included hunting , fishing ,outdoor activities with his family, going to the Horse races, listening to good music, history, and long conversations with his sister Sandy and brother Bob. He was thoughtful and kind, bringing others up and staying positive .
Survivors include his children, Jeremy (Heather) Jones Billings, Jennifer (Aaron) Johnson Billings, Jared (Jen) Bangert Billings; sister, Sandy Bafaro Spokane, WA; 7 grandchildren; nieces, Terri Evens Joliet MT, Deserie Ramirez Corona CA; Nephews David and Matthew Bafaro Spokane, WA; and a number of extended family.
Preceded in death by father, Henry Bangert, mother, Mary, and brother Bob.
