Obituary for Patricia Ann Sariin

Patricia “Pat” Ann (Mangan) Sariin, 72, of Columbus, MT died peacefully at her home on July 8, 2019. She has joined her husband who left us in 2017 and is singing with the angels now. Pat was born July 27, 1946 in Cloquet, MN and was the only child to Robert and Lois Mangan. She was baptized, confirmed, and married at Zion Lutheran Church in Cloquet. She got married to Carl D. Sariin June 24, 1967. They bought a little house in Atkinson, MN and lived there for 35 years raising their 2 daughters, Melissa LaFave (Daimen) of Mahtowa, MN and Bobbi Schatz (Kevin) of Columbus, MT. She was blessed with numerous grandkids: Travis, Jessi (Ennen); Wade, Garret, Alexis, Wyatt (Schatz) and Kaylyn, Jonah and Issabella .
Pat was the little 5 foot lady that always had a smile on her face and was always willing to help everyone. She was a stay at home mom that took care of Missy and Bobbi, bringing them to all their extra activities and working part time at various places, with TJ’S Country Store being her longest employer. After the girls could drive, she worked full time for 23 years as a teller for the Cloquet Co-Op Credit Union until 2001. Carl and Pat then moved to Columbus in 2002.
Pat was very active in the Bethel Lutheran Church in Atkinson where one of her fondest memories was playing the organ in duets with her adult piano teacher. Her love of music continued as she moved to Columbus and joined the Choir at St. James Lutheran Church and most recently the men’s choir at the Columbus Evangelical Church.
Pat enjoyed singing, playing piano; doing all sorts of crafts, helping others. She had a green thumb and planted the most beautiful flower beds every spring. She even portaged in flowers to their cabin on Lake Vermillion so she could enjoy their beauty year round.
A Celebration of her life will be held July 17, 2019 at the Columbus Evangelical Church in Columbus, MT at 10 am. Memorial donations can be made to Columbus Senior Center and Project Hope in her memory.
