Veteran Services
We are firmly committed to providing veterans a meaningful ceremony by taking care of all the details--as well as securing any benefits veterans are entitled to receive. It is just one more way of saying thank you for their service to the people and country.
Elgibility
Military funeral honors are provided at no cost as required by law for eligible veterans. Eligibility is confirmed with the veteran's DD-214 or discharge papers. The following are considered eligible:
Military members on active duty or in the Selected Reserve.
Former military members discharged from the Selected
Reserve due to a service-related disability.
Former military members with honorable discharge from active duty.
Former military members who completed one term of enlistment in the Selected Reserve with honorable discharge.
Traditional Honors
During a veteran's service, traditional honors include folding and presenting the American flag to the next of kin, playing Taps, and a minimum two-member honor guard from the Armed Forces. The presenting member must represent the branch in which the veteran served.
Additional honors may include draping the U.S. flag over the casket, a three-volley rifle salute symbolizing duty, honor, and country, and a final salute at the gravesite.
