Mary Lee Mantz

I’m sorry to learn of Mary Lees’ passing. I first met her in 1953 while attending Sidney High and attending church services and events at the Baptist Church in Sidney. Another friend Gary Six, me, Mary Lee and her sister Betty Lou sang as a mixed quartet in church many times and attended many youth functions through our church. I learned of her passing from Fred South who is my cousin by marriage.

I first met Mary Lee Smith on July 4th in 1953. I had gone to Sidney from Miles City to visit my Uncle Harry Ducello and family. We had our first date that weekend and dated for about a year and a half. It was difficult because we lived 150 miles apart, so we eventually ended out relationship. I left for college in California in September 1956 and did not see Lee until July 1996. Since then we had been in constant contact. She was my high school sweetheart and I enjoyed our relationship through the years.
