Obituary
At the age of 86, our mother, grandmother and sister died peacefully at St. Vincent Healthcare in Billings, MT early Sunday morning, April 18, 2010. Irene was born the daughter of James and Susie (Canady) Bryant, May 5, 1923 in Peoria, OK. The family later moved to Galena, KS.Irene started school in Nashville, MO, graduated from Riverton High School in Riverton, KS and went on the attend college in Dillon, MT. On January 23, 1943 she married B. J. Burris. They later divorced. Irene worked as a mail carrier for the United States Post Office where she retired.Irene loved little children and she spent many hours at the Joliet elementary school just listening to the children read aloud.Survivors include her sons: Wayne (Jean) Burris of Silesia, MT, Tom (Sorrel) of Rock Springs, WY; sister, Minerva Ketterman of Joplin, MO; brother, Jennings (Marie) Bryant of Shawnee, KS, grandchildren: Codi Lee, Brenna, Lowell Wayne, Troy Burris as well as numerous nieces and nephews.Preceding Irene in death were her parents; brothers: Elmer, Roy, Bill, Jim, Don and Clifford Bryant.Visitation for Irene will be at Dahl Funeral Chapel in Billings Tuesday, April 20, and Wednesday, April 21 from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 22, 2010 at Joliet Lutheran Church, First and Central, with interment in the Joliet Cemetery.Memories and condolences may be made to the family at www.dahlfuneralchapel.com. We were sorry to learn of your Mom passing away. She was such a neat lady and the best neighbor ever. We have always considered ourselves lucky to have been able to call her our friend. Our girls have such fond memories of her and ask about her often. We use to correspond at Christmas, but since her health got bad, she has not answered our notes. Know you will all miss her. Hopefully all your fond memories will help get you through this difficult time.

Wayne, Jeannie, Lowell and Troy, Your mom and grandmother was such a lovely person. When and where ever I ran into her, she always had a smile for me and was so pleasant. She will be missed by all who knew her. Again I am sorry for her passing and know my thoughts are with you at this sad time.
