Obituary

Danielle Kay Crawford (age 45) of Billings, Montana passed away on June 20, 2023, at St. Vincent Hospital in Billings. Danielle was born on May 14th, 1978, to Peggy Griffith.


Early on, Danielle had a love for education and graduated college from Northern Marianas College with a degree in Education. Danielle continued spreading her love for education by becoming a teacher at Elder Grove (Billings, MT), where she continued teaching for 18 years until her passing. Danielle touched and inspired many lives of her students throughout her life. She will be remembered as a determined, passionate, and kind soul.


Danielle is preceded in death by her Grandma Patty, Nano and Papa Thorne, Uncle Kinny, and Aunt Sandi Thorne.


Danielle is survived by her daughter Casey Jean Parish; granddaughter Paige Parish; siblings Tonita Burns, Patricia Crawford, and Mike Crawford; mother Peggy Griffith; father Dennis Harris and many friends, family, and former students.


Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, June 29, 2023, at Dahl Funeral Chapel, 10 Yellowstone Avenue, Billings, MT 59101.


In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to either NAMI Billings at 955 Broadwater Square, Billings, MT 59101 (namibillings.org) or Elder Grove School at 1532 S. 64th St W, Billings, MT 59106.

Ms. Crawford was my teacher around 2015-2018. She was stern and scared most of the students, but was also warm and enjoyable. My favorite memory was while we were dissecting sharks, she told us to never chew gum because we would taste the fermeldahyde in our mouths. Even so, she would always be chewing on some gum! And when you heard the heels clacking, you knew you had to be quiet! She showed us a documentary of Yellowstone Exploding, we later called her classroom “The room of Doom” I enjoyed her teachings and stern looks as I talked in class. She will forever remain in my heart and will be missed dearly.
