William Bruner

William (Billy) Raymond Bruner passed away on July 27, 2023, at the age of 73. Billy was born on November 26, 1949, the oldest of 5 children to William and Shirley (Sasse) Bruner of Ryegate, Montana.

Billy's father William Bruner and younger sister Darla Bruner predeceased him. He is survived by his mother, Shirley of Ryegate, Montana, and his siblings Diane (Rick) Fetterhoff of Kalispell, Tim (Hollie) Bruner of Ryegate, Montana and Barbara (Steve) Mery of Bothell, Washington., as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Billy was known and loved for his interests in old cars, older-style country music, chess, and particularly for history lovers, his interest and knowledge of the American Civil War. Billy possessed an uncanny memory and was particularly good at remembering small details such as birthdays and could recall exactly what everyone was doing on important dates. His family and friends will miss him as the Bruner family historian, who could recall all the family's storied details accurately in a way no one else could. Billy always engaged in exciting conversations, particularly about politics and current events.

A memorial will be held at St. Mathias Catholic Church in Ryegate, Montana on September 23 at 11:00 A.M.
