Lodge Grass, MT – Kyla Trichral Bright Wings, “AWASSAANNEE DAAKAAKE.” “Early Bird” 31, of Lodge Grass, MT, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on August 24, 2023, at St. Vincent Hospital in Billings, MT. She was born November 18, 1991, in Billings, Montana, a daughter of Joaney T. Holds the Enemy and Benjamin P. Bright Wings, Sr., “Ponch”. She was raised by her paternal grandparents, Henry and Daisy Bright Wings, Jr., along with her Auntie Mom, Althea Yarlott. She was raised in Lodge Grass, MT, her entire life.
Her Indian name is “AWASSAANNEE DAAKAAKE” (“Early Bird”), and was given to her by her grandpa, Tronson Big Hair. Her nickname was “Peggy,” given to her by her late great-grandmother, Agnes Holds the Enemy. Her auntie mom, Althea, also had a nickname for Kyla; she affectionately called her, “Pretty Girl,” She was a member of Ties the Bundle and a child of the Ties the Bundle. When Kyla was born, she was a preemie and only weighed one pound three ounces, the size of a hand. She was a survivor of life who became a beautiful person inside and out.
She was a member of the Native American Church introduced to her by her late grandpas Henry Bright Wings, Sr. and Al Big Hair. Kyla was taught the traditional Crow Indian ways of living by her paternal grandparents. She did her best to maintain what was taught to her.
She received her early education at Lodge Grass Public Schools and Pretty Eagle Catholic Academy. She devoted her time to being a homemaker and mother to her four beautiful children. Kyla was a lovely, kindhearted woman. One of the most attractive things about her was her long, beautiful black hair. She always made sure that her children were dressed nicely and herself too. Kyla comes from a large family on both her paternal and maternal sides, and she greatly loved her big family. Kyla had a lot of friends she made and cherished them all. She was generous and would always lend a helping hand to anyone who needed help.
Kyla and her significant love, Avery White, had four beautiful children: Kyson Jake, Aldrik Rider, Kaizy Rae, and Kaven Michael James Bright Wings. She devoted her time to her children, whom she loved dearly.
Kyla was preceded in death by her grandparents, Henry and Daisey Bright Wings, Sr., Aloysius Big Hair, Jr., Jacob Big Hair, Sr., Joaney Holds Champ, and Juanita Stands.
Kyla is survived by her four beautiful children, Kyson, Aldrik, Kaizy, and Kaven; Her parents, Joaney Holds (Lee Onion) and Benjamin (Rebecca) Bright Wings.
