Obituary
Earl David Wegner, beloved father and grandfather, passed away on September 11, 2023. Earl was born to parents David and Marie Wegner on March 26, 1932, in Fromberg Montana. Earl was the second of five children and grew up on a family farm between Bridger and Belfry.
After graduating from Belfry High School, Earl joined the Navy, serving from 1951 to 1955. His favorite post was on the USS Telfair where he served as a motorboat operator.
Earl met the love of his of his life, Barbara Huff, at a dance in Columbus, Montana. They were married on December 23, 1955.
Following his military service, Earl was a seismographer, deputy sheriff, mechanic, and served in the Columbus volunteer fire department.
Earl enjoyed traveling, reading, camping, fishing, boating, playing pinochle, watching football, and spending time with family.
Earl is proceeded in death by his parents, David Wegner and Marie Wegner Teeples; brother, Ray Wegner; two sisters, Lucille Ellis and Laura Green; and wife, Barbara Wegner. He is survived by his brother, Ernie Wegner; son, Randy Wegner (Kathy Jess); daughter, Debra Miller (Todd); grandson, Samuel Miller (JoeAnna McDonald); and granddaughter, Hazel Langemeier (Ryan).
A service for Earl will be held at Dahl Funeral Chapel on October 9 at 11:00am. Reception to follow.
