Obituary
Martin Dale Weaselboy, Ancient Sitting Man, 64, died Wednesday September 13, 2023 of natural causes. He was surrounded by family.
Traditional services will be conducted at 10am Sept 15th, 2023, at the Lutheran Church of Rocky Boy with Harlan and Keith Gopher officiating. Burial will follow at the Weaselboy home in Duck Creek. Martin was born November 25, 1958 to Louis and Lucy Weaselboy. He spent his life with Noreen DayChild, in which they raised 2 daughters, Shawna “Tawn”; Tracey “Jawn” and 3 boys, Waylon, Elliot and Terrance. Martin, known as Sherm to some was a wise and enthusiastic person. He would always have a humorous story and/or nickname for you. He often gave advice and wisdom to his nieces and nephews and always had an encouraging and inspirational comment, when he noticed you feeling down. We will miss him.
He devoted his life to his nehiyaw beliefs and believed in the Pipe and Sundance ways. He would guide and encourage those whom asked, to follow the red road and to “light your smudge” often.
The highlight of his day was spending time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed watching them play soccer and sports, he was there number one fan!
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Morris Lee Weaselboy and Melvin Louis Weaselboy Sr., nephew Michael Rehfeld and Uncle George Weaselboy.
Martin is survived by his children Shawna “Tawn”, Tracy “Jawn”, Waylon, Elliot, and Terrance, his partner in life Noreen DayChild, twin brother Max (Sara) Weaselboy, Sr, brother Louis (Bernadine) Weaselboy Jr., and sisters Constance Farmer, Lorraine Weaselboy-Samatt, and Linda Monteiro, aunt Eliza Small; 30 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Services have been entrusted to Dahl Funeral Chapel in Billings.
Traditional wake to begin today, September 14 at noon, at Our Saviors Lutheran Church until the Funeral tomorrow, Friday, September 15 at 10 am. Interment at Rocky Boy and traditional feast immediately following.
