Keith Sand

Keith Sand passed away on Sept. 25, 2023, at the age of 86 at the Skyline Nursing Rehab Center in Billings, Montana. He was born to Leonard and Frances Sand on Oct. 9, 1936, in Washington, Kansas before moving to Powell, Wyoming.

The love of his life and wife of 57 years, Donna Sand, their infant son Scotty, and 16-year-old daughter Marlene preceded him in death.

Keith and Donna's living legacy includes their three daughters, Lynette, Marla, and Teri, who each grew up to raise their own families, bringing Keith and Donna seven granddaughters and eight great-grandchildren.

Keith was a Navy veteran who served in active duty for two years before marrying Donna and starting their family together. After retiring from the Nacy, Keith lived a quiet life, tending to his many interests and passions including managing a Super 8 Motel in Casper, Wyoming and maintaining an assisted-living facility in Powell, Wyoming with Donna always at his side. He was also passionate about gardening and was always happy to work on the projects that mattered to the ones he loved. Over the years he fixed faucets, buries beloved pets, engineered creative remedies for failing vehicles, and doled out countless hugs and encouragements, among many other never-forgotten acts of love. Together Keith and Donna humbly brought joy and compassion to their family, friends, and community.

Keith's family are quietly celebrating his life together at this time but will also hold a Celebration of Life ceremony in July 2023 to allow those to whom he was dear to attend. The ceremony will be held in Powell, Wyoming, and will be preceded by an announcement in the Powell Tribune detailing location and date.
