Obituary

Melody Rae Heide (Estes) was welcomed into Heaven on October 3, 2023, in Billings, MT, at the age of 67. She is survived by her sons Jason (Kim) Heide and Garrett (Andi) Heide, her sisters Wendy Estes and Deanna Estes, and her former spouse, Mark Heide. She is preceded in death by her parents.


Melody was born on December 12, 1955, in Glendive, MT, to Gail Lorraine Estes (Arnett) and Edwin Dean Estes. She graduated from Dawson County High School in 1974. She married in 1975 and then moved to Billings where she lived the remainder of her life.


Melody found peace and happiness riding her Harley with friends throughout Montana. Always adventurous, she loved exploring new things, especially music and the arts. We celebrate her love for Jesus and others, and we will miss her positive attitude and cheerful smile.


A memorial service honoring and remembering Melody will be held at Canvas Church at 2345 Hawthorne Ln on Saturday, October 21 at 1:00pm.

Melody was the talented pianist at Trinity Baptist Church in the early 1970s as I (Alan Jarratt) was the worship leader. She was a Blessing to our church family.

Oh Melody your Uncle Malcolm remembers when I first saw you in 1956. You were one happy redheaded kid with a smile like no other. You were not only one smart lady, skilled and loyal as an employee at the YMCA. Our Lord Jesus, has welcome home.

I was lucky to be Melodys hairdresser for many years. She was always a bright shinning light every time she entered the salon. A beautiful women and a sweet kind soul. Melody was always so positive about life and excited to share her many adventures. I know you are flying with the Angels now Melody, free of the pain and suffering you so bravely endured. My heartfelt condolences to Jason, Garrett and the entire family. May you be comforted by all the sweet memories she left behind.🙏
