Joseph (Joe) William Loran was born Aug. 12, 1955, to Joseph and M. Cassie Loran as the youngest of four in Butte, Montana. Joe had a son in 1976. Joe married Jean Bonnett in Las Vegas, NV, on Sept. 4, 1994, and gained a daughter.
Joe was a "Knight of the Highway" also known as a semi-truck driver. He drove for Winkler Trucking for nearly 28 years. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, and target shooting, traveling and getting lost in new places, taking care of his lawn, drinking beer with his friends, and relaxing with his family.
Joe was a generous man with his time, his love, and his resources. He would do anything to support his family and never shied away from the hard parts. Joe was always quick with a smart remark and loved to make people laugh. His friends confirm that they only worried when Joe wasn't teasing them.
Joe loved the freedom of being a truck driver and took advantage of the time to meditate and think up new jokes and tall tales. When he wasn't doing that, he was talking to and giving a hard time to his friends. His favorite part of every week, though, was coming home to spend time with his wife and dogs.
Joe is survived by his wife Jean of Billings, son Mike (Erica) Renney of Helena, daughter Jasmine (Allen) Shouse of Cantonment, Florida, and five grandchildren: Cody, Lynsey, Aileck, Jaxon, and Austin. He is also survived by one sister, Mary Jo Loran of Great Falls, one brother, David (Yelena) Loran of Colorado Springs, Colorado, beloved nephews and nieces, and his in-laws, the Bonnett and Scheffler families He is also survived by the many friends he considered family and his long-time loved and respected employers Todd and Mary Ann Winkler. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph F. Loran, his mother, M. Cassie Loran, his sister Laura, and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
