Deana “Dee Dee” Maxine Enemy Hunter “Tobacco Care Woman”, 54, passed on October 8, 2023, in Billings, MT.
Dee Dee was born on September 9, 1969, in Crow Agency, MT to parents William Luke Enemy Hunter and mother Barbara Not Afraid Bacon. As a child, Dee lived in many places, San Diego, CA, Crow Agency, Lodge Grass, and Rocky Boy, MT.
She attended high school at Rocky Boy High and graduated in 1988. Dee Dee married in 1993 to John Gardipee, Sr. She attended Stone Child College in 1995 for Elementary Education and MSUN BS Broadfield for Biology and Counseling.
Dee worked as a biology instructor at BoxElder Junior and Senior High, also working as a Rocky Boy HeadStart teacher, and finally was employed at Plain Green LLC.
She had many hobbies, she loved bowling, going to powwows, spending time at Sundance cultural events as well as spending time with her children, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She liked to listen to music, clean, and cook. She loved to help people in need, she always welcomed anyone to her home. Beadwork was another lover of hers. She grew up and spent most of her time in Rocky Boy.
Dee Dee is preceded in death by her father Luke Enemy Hunter; stepfather Frank Bacon; maternal and paternal grandparents; sister Claudia Bacon; Aunts Elisabeth White, Diane Russell, Gladys Left Hand, Diana Spirit, and Alexine LaForge; Uncles Starr Not Afraid Jr., Daniel LaForge, Alex Jr. LaForge.
She is survived by her mother Barbara Bacon; Sons Anthony Enemy Hunter and John Gardipee Jr.; Daughters Barbara Arvilla Rose Gardipee and Tia Gardipee; Brother Terry Scott Enemy Hunter; Sisters Francine, Gayle, Trudi, Stephanie (Jeff) Bacon. Uncles Marlin “YoYo” (Reva) Garland Not Afraid, Aaron Laforge, and Leslie Not Afraid; Aunts Francine Amyotte, Paulette Not Afraid, Marilyn Not Afraid, Arvilla (Tom) Fly, Colleen Gordon, Vachelle Lynn LaForge. Other survivors include her 16 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
Viewing will take place10/10/2023 at Dahl Funeral Chapel from 12-8:00 pm
