Jamie Demontiney

Jamie Lee Demontiney, 48 of Pryor, was welcomed into Heaven on October 9, 2023, with the sunrise. Jamie was born to Millie Plain Feather of Pryor and James Demontiney Sr. Of Wyola.

Jamie received her GED in 2005 in Pullman, WA. In 2006 Jamie attended MSU Billings and was the Head woman dance for the Native American Indian Club. Later she received her associate of Education from LBHC in 2007. While attending LBHC, she was an avid participant in film and media.

Jamie was well known in Indian Country for her excellent beadwork. Her cradleboard was put on a postcard that been shown throughout the US. Jamies was very passionate about her Apsalooke culture. She loved showing off her beadwork in the annual Crow Fair parade and powwow. Jamie was experienced in many fields of employment, the one she loved the most was her employment with the MT Labors Union where she was selected as a journeyman.

Jamie's all-time achievements were being a mother and grandmother, and one heck of a sister and auntie.

Jamie was preceded in death by her mother Millie; brother Nicholas Demontiney; Paternal grandparents Joseph and Delia Demontiney Sr.; Maternal Grandparents Samuel and Adeline Plain Feather; and grandson Liam Clark.

She is survived by Sons Joe (Elsie), Jonah (Laila), and Wylie Demontiney; Daughters Javiera Takes the Gun, Lamya (Keith) Stands Over Bull, Michelle (Dwayne) Blacksmith, and Mariah Little Light; Grandchildren Kacyn Aliyh, Joe Dane Jr., Creanna, Autumn Plain Feather, and Oakley Blacksmith; Sisters Jody (Thomas) Medicine Horse, Gini Demontiney, Samantha (Tristen) Stewart, Cassy Hill, Donette Horn, and Amory Murphy; Brothers James (Tiffany), Jonny (Clarise), Rudy, Michael, Solomon, Harrison Demontiney, Ryan Old Crow, and Shawn Real Bird; Maternal Aunts Cerise, Billie Plain Feather, Renita Hill, Sara (Michael) LaForge, Lilly (Dave) Jefferson, Rebecca Falls Down, and Teatta (Ben) Bear Below; Paternal Aunts Jeannette, Yvonne, Donita, Natalie, Mary, and Hayley Demontiney; Uncles Jospeh Demontiney Jr., Arnold Four Souls, Donavan and Pete (Bummy) Demontiney; Grandparents Joanne Rock Above and Alice Graidy Hunts Arrow. She was blessed with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

All services are to take place at the Pryor Community Center, located at 306 Mak Pua Avenue, Pryor, MT 59066. Visitation begins at 2 p.m. on October 11, 2023, followed by a Wake starting at 5 p.m. Funeral Service will be at 10 am, the following day, October 12, 2023. Interment to follow at Pryor Cemetery.
