Francine Goodbird- Wilson

Francine GoodBird-Wilson, 72 made heaven her home on October 30, 2023. She was born January 8, 1951, at Elbowoods, North Dakota, a daughter to Raymond Good Bird Sr. and Emily Whiteman of Fort Berthold.

She attained her education at Pierre Indian Learning Center, Boston Massachusetts, and graduating from Flandreau Indian School in 1970. She married Ivan L. Wilson, and they were later divorced. In this union they had four daughters. Francine received her CNA license in Crow Agency which led to a career of 30 years with Heritage Acres Nursing home in Hardin MT. Francine was a daughter, sister, aunt, friend, mother, grandmother, and great grand mother who was a humble kind and generous soul. She loved to travel back home when she could and looked forward to family reunions. Her past time was beading while listening to her favorite drum groups. Mandaree, Red Bull 2nd Northern Cree singers. Francine was proud and rich in her lineage. She was a member of the Three Affiliated Tribes and belonging to the Prairie Chicken Clan.

Her hobbies were collecting turtle and bear figurines, beaded earrings and listening to Al Green, George Strait, Mo Town naming just a few. She has two name sakes, Masosa Francine Good Bird and Elimere Eve Francine Scalpe cane. Francine loved her family to the fullest, she never turned anyone away.

Francine is survived by daughters April (Terry) Enemy Hunter Sr., Sandra Priscilla and Shawna (Jake) Wilson. Brothers August T. Goodbird of Pierre, South Dakota, sisters Juanita Two Hearts of Fargo North Dakota, Jane (Ramon) LaRoque of Pierre South Dakota, Shelia Begay of Montevideo Minnesota, Janet Good Bird of New Town North Dakota, Ramona Garreau Rapid City South Dakota, Nellie Church of Bismark North Dakota. 12 Grand Children, 22 Great Grandchildren Marie Good Bird, Tayon and Kingston Old Crow, Dorthea, Elimere, Blue Bella Scalpcane, Trey Sean, Ondreyez, Quavo, Gracen, Velkan, Leah, Zaelen, Blossom, Adrianna, Tamisha, Taezha, Alayah, Tressa, Taelee and Havana Medicine Horse. Uncles Truman, Mahto, Billings Montana, and Aljee Mahto of Bismark North Dakota. Her friends Penny Bad Bear, Tela Rondeaux and Doris Mae Door. She had an extended family: Good Bird, Whiteman, Finely, Driver, Dancing Bull, Old Mouse, Little Swallow, Sage, Hunts Along, Crows Fly High, Mahto, Melcom Wolfe family, Wounded Face.

She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers and sisters, companion Fred Oieby, son Sean and grandsons Berry Goodbird and Terrin T.C. Old Crow. Great grandson Emery Ivan Medicine Horse.
