Obituary

Brendon Charles McMahan's life was tragically and senselessly taken on November 9th, 2023, at the young age of 24.

Brendon was born on January 8th, 1999, in Billings, MT to Rebecca and Jason McMahan. He fought hard for his life as a preemie, and we must believe he fought just as hard at the end.

Brendon attended Newman Elementary, Riverside Middle School, and Billings West High School. He played little guy football, basketball, t-ball, and minor league baseball. Brendon was a member of boy scouts for several years. He also played the trumpet from grade school through High School. Though he never joined a choir, he was always listening to music, singing along and could carry a tune. He had many hobbies growing up that he shared with friends and family which included skateboarding, longboarding, roller skating, inline skating, BMX biking, fishing, camping, and exploring The Rims of Billings. As he grew into a young man and adult his interest turned more to riding his motorcycle, traveling, and working on vehicles. He liked to collect various things such as coins, cards, knives, and he strongly believed in the second amendment. He very much enjoyed target shooting with family and friends.

Brendon had a special bond with animals. He was always bringing home a rescued cat, to which his mother could never say no. He loved his dogs very much. Along with the animals, Brendon also brought home friends. It wasn't uncommon for his mother to have a house full of boys that she took on. The home was filled with laughter and love.

Brendon's first job was at Sears, followed by Albertsons and Panda Express. He was employed the longest at Panda and had incredible coworkers and a boss that always wanted the best for him. Brendon was very proud of the wok skills he learned. His last job was with FedEx as a delivery driver. During his routes he got to see many friends and family. Of course, if there was a dog there, Brendon had to make friends with it and give it treats.

Brendon was bright, outgoing, kind, and had a naturally sweet and beautiful soul. He was someone you could always count on no matter what it was. He was an amazing son, the greatest brother anyone could ask for, a loyal friend and would literally do anything he could to help his family and friends. Brendon was selfless and optimistic. He always knew how to make someone laugh or smile and had a quick wit. He had such a mesmerizing smile, beautiful blue eyes. His mother loved it when he would make his eyebrows dance and they would laugh so hard. He had such a contagious laugh. He was always dressed stylish and had a large assortment of shoes and clothes.

Brendon lived every single day of his life to the fullest. He loved fiercely and forever. He never ended a conversation or visit without saying, "I Love You!"

Brendon is survived by his parents Jason McMahan and Rebecca and Joshua Braley, his brother Riley and his wife Meghan and her family, and sisters Kyndra and Jayla. He also leaves his grandmother's Carol McMahan and Betty Nelson. Brendon was preceded in death by his grandfather's Charles Nelson and Hubert McMahan as well as an Uncle Wesley Nelson. He had numerous cousins, uncles, aunts, close friends, and co-workers.

Although we are all grieving such a huge loss and our lives will never be the same without him, Brendon would not want us to think of all the things he'll be missing; instead, he would want us to remember everything he accomplished in his life. He will be missed by so many. Brendon may be gone but he will never be forgotten. One of his favorite books as a child was Love You Forever. Brendon, ‘I'll Love You Forever, I'll Like You for Always, As Long as I'm Living, My Baby You'll be."

Private viewing and funeral services have been arranged. The family asks that you only attend if you have been invited. A GoFundMe called Justice4Brendon has been started.
