Obituary

Chuck was born on August 4th, 1946, to Fannie Pearl Ferrell and Charles Edward Fletcher Sr. in Tolu, Kentucky.

Born into a family of 5, Chuck was the second to oldest child.

In 1967, he met the love of his life, his sweetheart, Betty Lou Johns of Powell, WY. A fond memory was having to sit in the backseat of a friend's vehicle alone because she refused to sit with him.

They went on to marry after having met on Ft. Lewis Base where Betty worked and he was stationed in Steilacoom WA, on July 15th, 1967, and were married for 56 years.

After his time served in Vietnam, he returned back to his sweetheart. They then moved to Deaver, WY, and raised their two children; Michael Charles and Robin Clair.

Chuck worked for Bighorn County grading roads for 37 years, he took great pride in his work.

Later in life, Chuck was blessed with three granddaughters whom he adored.

His greatest passion in life was his family. He loved playing with his great-grandchildren, spending time outside working in his yard and garden, fishing, and camping.

You would always find Chuck cheering on his granddaughters at sporting events, dance recitals, and anything else they decided to enter into.

He is survived by his sweetheart Betty Johns Fletcher; son Michael Fletcher; daughter Robin (Keith) Hinegardner, granddaughters Chelsey (Scotty) Leonhardt, Ree'Dawn "Buggy" (Justin) Harris, and Malarie "My buddy" Hinegardner, and great-grandchildren Addyson and Greyson Leonhardt, Justin Wayne Harris.

He is also survived by brothers Carl (Martha) Ferrell, Jerry Fletcher, and Rickie Fletcher, nieces and nephews, and numerous friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother Fannie, father Charles, and his sister Linda Edwards.

Out of respect for Chuck's request, there will be no service held. A family gathering will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers please send donations to the VA.

Chuck will always be remembered for his genuine heart, his good sense of humor, and his charming smile.

Chuck was one of the proudest Veteran's I ever met. His love of country was unmatched. He never failed to give a shout out to those who served. I will sure miss seeing him around.

Betty and I were best friends when we were in grade school. I never met Chuck but I know he will be missed by his wife and family. My condolences go out to you all.
