Ruby Delp

Ruby T. Delp, 40, of Billings, Montana, passed away unexpectedly due to complications from the flu on January 27, 2024.

Ruby was born on January 7, 1984 to Tom and Cicily Chunkapura in Miles City, MT. Ruby grew up in Forsyth, MT, where she lived the duration of her childhood. She was loved and adored by her older brother, Tony, younger brother, Troy, and younger sister, Preya. During her young adult life, Ruby was active with the Catholic Church, numerous school activities, and was one of the well known voices for KIKC radio. She graduated from Forsyth High School in 2002, and moved to Billings to attend MSU-Billings. Ruby graduated with a B.A. in Public Relations in 2006. Upon graduating, Ruby worked for various health food organizations. Ruby's mother influenced her passion for natural health approaches, which she implemented as a daily practice. As a result of her caring nature, Ruby began volunteering at St. Vincent Healthcare in 2015. In 2016, Ruby started as a Business Coordinator at Internal Medicine Associates, in Billings. Ruby's hard work, organization, collaboration skills, and empathetic nature positioned her for her next step. In 2020, Ruby was hired as Clinic Manager at SCL Health Clinic in Hardin, MT. Three years later, a local opportunity as Clinic Manager for Intermountain Health and Broadwater Clinic in Billings, brought Ruby back home. She loved working in the medical field, where she was able to make a difference and help others.

Ruby began dating the love of her life, Travis Delp, in 2007. They were married at a wonderful celebration on June 20, 2009 in Hardin, MT. In 2019, Ruby and Travis began fostering their two children, Zephrah (11) and Michael (9), who were later adopted on January 5, 2022. Michael and Zephrah are their parents' treasure, and Ruby loved being their mother. Ruby and Travis enjoyed taking their children on camping trips, hikes with the dogs, watching Zephrah play volleyball and cross country, and watching Michael play football and wrestle.

Ruby was known for her infectious personality and her ability to make everyone around her happy and full of laughter. She was a bright light in this world, and will forever impact those who had the privilege of knowing her. She brightened any room she walked into, and brought much joy to those around her. She touched many lives with her passion for life, generosity, and helpful nature. Her love was always selfless, unconditional, and genuine. Ruby always made the best of every situation and enjoyed living in the moment. She wasn't one to sit around because she knew that life was happening now. Her faith, family, and friends encompassed her world.

Ruby is survived by her loving husband Travis and their children, Zephrah and Michael, parents Tom and Cissy Chunkapura, brothers Tony and Troy, and sister Preya (Jake) McDermott. She was also very close to the entire Delp family: father- and mother-in-law Dean and Janie Delp, grandparents-in-law Donna Delp & Bruce and Agatha House, and sister- and brothers-in-law Amy (Cole) Mettes, Jordan Delp, and Tanner Delp. She is also survived by her much-loved nieces and nephew (Mesa, Liberty, Cassidy, & Moses Mettes, and Sonya McDermott), and countless friends.

A visitation will take place on Saturday, February 3rd, at Dahl Funeral Home, Billings, from 5-8 pm. Her Celebration of Life will take place Thursday, February 8th, 11:00 AM, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Billings, Montana.
