Arlo Male Bear Stone

March 17, 1976 - February 01, 2024

Obituary

Arlo Myron Male Bear Stone, Sr., 47 of Pryor, MT, fought the good fight of Faith and finished his race on February 1, 2024. He was born on March 17, 1976, to Sharon Male Bear Stone and the late Wade Wagenaar.

Arlo was a member and child of the Big Lodge Clan. He was given the Crow name Akiassawishe (Has a Protector) by Mary Helen Medicine Horse.

Arlo was raised by his maternal grandparents Harold and Marina Male Bear Stone, Sr, in Wyola, MT. He attended Wyola Elementary and Jr. High School. In 1995 Arlo graduated from Lodge Grass High School. One of the highlights of his illustrious basketball career was when he scored 43 points against Plenty Coups. His love for the game was never diminished.

After High School Arlo spent a lot of his time driving for his Grandfather Harold and Grandmother Marina, to various camp meetings.

In the early spring of 1997, Arlo was introduced to DeAndra Hugs by John Caplett. A little over a year later they were married on April 4, 1998. After living in Hardin, MT, and Billings, MT, they eventually made their home in Pryor.

Two of the proudest moments in Arlo's life were the days his sons were born. He was the best dad that anybody could ask for. Arlo Jr and Wade were his world, and he would do anything and everything for them. He was a very devoted husband to his wife. Arlo truly was a man of God, never wavering in his Faith in his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. In his spare time Arlo enjoyed fishing, which was something he could do all day long, occasionally telling his famous ghost stories, relaxing and spending time with his family was also a top priority.

He currently was employed at the Arrow Creek Elementary as part of the custodial team.

Arlo is survived by his wife DeAndra, his two sons Arlo Jr and Wade. Mother Sharon Wells, sisters Penny and Amanda Wells, Naomie, Amber, and Rachel Male Bear Stone. my earliest memory of Arlo was seeing him on the basketball court and then later on a few years at Dad Robert Nomee's revivals I'd see him so on FIRE FOR GOD! and that is how I will always remember him and always with that infectious smile. My prayers for the Family
