Jason Kruser

This world bid farewell to a delightfully clever mind, proper gentleman and humble soul when Jason Richard Kruser, 55, passed peacefully February 7, 2024, in Billings, MT.

Jason was born September 18, 1968, to Sherri Ann Kruser at the family home in Billings, MT, and never left that special place.

His mother died of leukemia three months later so Jason was raised by his beloved grandparents Roland and Bertha (Sauter) Kruser.

Jason graduated from Senior High School in 1987 and briefly attended Eastern Montana College. As a child he read the entire set of Encyclopedia Britannica, which fueled his fascination with history. Not only did Jason have a brilliant mind, but he was also an eloquent speaker. Everyone loved his lectures and wicked sense of humor.

Jason worked at the Tinder Box and eventually pursued his own venture in tobacco and gifts opening J.Richards at West Park Plaza. He worked at the Monte Bar & Casino for the last 15 years where he found a second home.

Jason was preceded in death by his mother Sherri Kruser; grandparents, Roland and Bertha Kruser; aunt Beverly Young, cousin Rollie Dotz and niece Stephanie Brennan. He is survived by his brother Shane (Ann) Salisbury of Billings; cousins Terri (John) Stricker of Billings and Robin (Bill) Brennan of La Grange, IL; numerous nieces and nephews and countless friends.

Thursday, February 22 there will be Visitation from 5 – 8 pm with a Vigil Service at 6:30 pm at Dahl Funeral Chapel, 10 Yellowstone Avenue.

Friday, February 23 there will be a Funeral Mass at 10:00 am at Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 3411 3rd Ave South.

Private Rite of Committal at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
