Obituary

Walter “Walt” Perry Zortman was born on June 4th, 1947, in Clearfield, PA, to Isaac Zortman and Olive Zortman (Thompson).


He earned his high school diploma as well as a certificate in Truck Driver Trade School.


Walt met his wife Daphne Goodwin, and later married on December 29, 1989, in Billings, MT.


Walt served in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam war. When he returned, he had his CDL, working as a truck driver, transporting hazardous, and also worked pipeline.

Walt had a passion for antique cars, even joining an antique car club. He also loved old tractors.


Walt spent over 40 years of his life in Billings, MT.


Walt is preceded in death by his mother, father, two sisters, and three brothers.


He is survived by his wife Daphne Zortman, daughter Penny Zortman; sons Brian (Phadra) Zortman and Isaac (Gwen) Zortman; and six granddaughters and one grandson.

I met Walt on a pipeline job in Montana. He was gracious enough to join us on stage with his harmonica in Gillette, Wyoming one evening. . We kept in touch over the years. The guy had a great big heart! I will never forget him. R.I.P. Walt.
