Obituary
Wayne John Meidinger passed away Apr 30, 2024 after a short illness.
Wayne was born August 10, 1943 in Eureka, South Dakota. Wayne has been a long time resident of Powell, Wyoming where he taught high school business for over 30 years and had a very successful coaching career with girls basketball .
Wayne was a retired Air Force veteran and a member of many veterans clubs and affiliations. He enjoyed gardening, golfing, traveling to the Black Hills (his favorite place to be), along with anything that included being outdoors.
He is preceded in death by his parents Albert and Martha Meidinger, sisters Bernice Fischer, Elaine Serr, Marie Job, Florence Henningsen, and brother Mark Meidinger.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Diane of Powell, WY and son Lonnie (Candy) of Pine Haven, WY; sister Barb Jund (Jon) of Idaho, and JoAnn Weber (Jack) of Arizona; grandson Kaden, and 2 granddaughters, Lauren and Brooklyn of Post Falls, ID.
Burial services will be held at Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis, SD on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at 1PM. A celebration of Wayne's life will be held in Powell at a later date.
