Obituary
On October 28th, 2023, John Robert Flugstad unexpectedly passed away. John was born on February 10, 1945, in Heyden, Colorado as the second child of John and Grace Flugstad. John (Robert) graduated from West High school in Billings Montana in 1963 and went on to pursue a degree in Accounting from the University of Montana. It was during this time that John joined the US Navy and served aboard the aircraft carrier the USS Constellation. He remained a proud veteran of the US Navy throughout the remainder of his life.
John spent many years managing a variety of businesses throughout his career and retired as an employee of the Colorado Workforce Center in Pueblo. After his retirement John became a guide boat pilot at the Arkansas Riverwalk in Pueblo and found this to be the most rewarding experience for him at that point in his life. He loved to share the story of Pueblo and connect with the guests that embarked upon the riverboat tours. He looked forward to every opportunity he had to promote Pueblo and the Riverwalk experience.
Preceding him in his death are his parents and younger brother Ronald Flugstad. Surviving him are his sister Joan Decker and brother Randall Flugstad.
A graveside service will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens on Friday, June 28, 2024, at 11:00 am.
