Mary Windle

Maryann Windle went home to be with our Lord on May 16, 2024.

Mary was born on September 25, 1940, to Margaret and Robert Nonemaker of Castanea, Pennsylvania. Maryann attended her first year of schooling at a one room schoolhouse in Dunnstown PA.

She attended Castanea grade school and finished her higher education in Lock Haven Junior and Senior High schools graduating in 1958. She then graduated from Germantown Medical Center in Philadelphia as an RN in 1961.

While in nursing school, one of her classmates introduced her to the love of her life, Richard Windle from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. They married on June 14, 1964. After three years of marriage, Richard and Maryann adopted their one and only daughter BethAnn in August 1967.

Due to Richard's career, they moved around to several states which included Pennsylvania, Georgia, New Jersey, Florida, and Oregon. They settled in McMinnville Oregon in 1976. They would reside there until 2002, that was the longest they lived anywhere, 26 years.

Maryann worked as an RN nurse at the local hospitals of whatever city she was residing in at the time. She then worked for an in-home healthcare company, Altera from 1988 till her retirement in 2002. She then relocated to Crystal River, Florida in 2002 to retire with Richard until his death in 2016.

Due to being so far away from family, it was decided for her to move to Billings, Montana in Oct 2019. She moved into Dave and Beth‘s home until she could relocate to her own senior apartment. Her new home, Chapel Court of St John's took place June 1st of 2021 through Feb1, 2023. She then moved to Fischer Cottage of St John's to assisted living.

Her hobbies included PTA, sewing in her earlier years, reading love stories, travel, which took her to Canada, Mexico, Australia, and all over Europe, church activities, playing games, interior decorating (I wasn't allowed to sit on the white couch, lol) and of course, doing laundry!!! And her love for Pepsi!!

She and I have so many fun stories of getting locked inside malls, purposely getting lost and finding our way home, clothes shopping, her relationship with animals, and so much more, and of course spending time with her two grandsons.

Survivors include: Daughter: Beth Ann Windle Cromwell (David)

Grandsons: Montana And Shann Cromwell

Sister: Joan Nonemaker Moore (William)

And many cousins, nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
