Linda Kahler

We remember Linda Kahler, who departed from this world on May 19, 2024, after a long battle with type 2 diabetes.

Linda was born to Richard and Doris Kahler on June 11th, 1956, in Cirencester England at the American Air Force Base. The family returned to America in 1959 and lived in a few places before settling in Miles City where Linda attended most of her school years.

Linda then made her home in Billings after graduating from Rocky in 1978.

She began her working career at Montgomery Wards until it closed in 1999. Linda then worked at and retired from Billings Federal Credit Union working many roles throughout the organization. She also worked as the “part-time” bookkeeper for her dad at Spic and Span Dry Cleaners then later her brother and sister-in-law.

In her early 20's, Linda became a proud aunt and spent a lot of time babysitting. Linda settled in a condominium community where she found some of her closest friends. You can still find the group on a Wednesday night. Linda loved visiting with family and enjoyed her Sunday morning phone calls from her Aunt Judy. Linda enjoyed being outside in the sun with her two cats Zoey and Izzie. S

he loved to crochet, and her family is fortunate to have many of her creations. She was tough to beat in a game of spades because she was taught well by her grandmother Edith and her mom. To be cared for by Linda was a blessing because she was so patient, kind and loyal to those she loved.

She is preceded in death by her father Richard Kahler and mother Doris Yant and survived by her brother Mark (Janette) Kahler, niece Heather (Matt VonBergen) Kahler, Aunt Judy (Wes) Erickson and many cousins.

Family and Friends are invited to Central Park at the Craft House Shelter located on the 900 Block of Central Avenue on Tuesday, June 18th at 12:30pm to reminisce and honor the life of Linda.
