Billings, Steven A. Blehm passed away unexpectedly on July 6, 2024, at the age of 68.
Steve was born on November 29, 1955, in Port Hueneme, CA, to James A. and Marilyn (Sather) Blehm. The family returned home to Billings in February of 1956, after his father's discharge from the US Navy.
Steve graduated from Billings Senior High in 1974. While working at Sandy's Drive-In, through his high school years, Steve met his future wife, Jeanine Heffner. Steve and Jeanine were married on March 11, 1977, sharing 47 wonderful years together. The family grew with the birth of their first son Zachary in 1979 and their second son Jacob in 1981.
Steve started his career in the grocery business in 1977, working for Buttrey's, which later became Albertson's, retiring in 2022.
Growing up Steve loved to play baseball and often shared stories of his baseball days with family and friends. He shared his love of baseball with his two sons, helping coach both their little league teams as well as umpiring games. He was proud to be selected to attend umpire training in San Bernardino, California, and continued to umpire for several years.
Steve was a very fun-loving guy and was quick to make people laugh. He was a very loyal Dodgers fan and was extremely passionate about his MSU Bobcats. His fantasy football teams were his winter hobby, and he spent many hours selecting the right players each week along with his sons and his brother Scott.
Steve is survived by his loving wife Jeanine, sons Zachary of Billings and Jacob (wife Laura) of Boise, ID, sister Susan Blehm Rye of Billings, and brother Scott Blehm of Greeley, CO. He is also survived by his brother and sister-in-laws Patricia Stubbs, William and Phyllis Ulrickson, Dennis and Dodie Heffner, Michael and Georgia Heffner, Mary Whipple and Gerard and Karen Heffner, and 15 very special nieces and nephews, and his grand-dog Zulu. He was preceded in death by his mother Marilyn Anderson and his father James Blehm.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at Dahl Funeral Chapel, 10 Yellowstone Ave. Billings, MT with a luncheon to be held at the Columbia Club immediately following the service. Please come as you are.
