William Vorhauer

William Hugo “Bill” Vorhauer, of Billings, MT, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2024, at the age of 91. Born in Los Angeles, CA, on November 5, 1932, to Hugonea Uhl and Harry Vorhauer. William lived a full and vibrant life, leaving behind a legacy of love, dedication, and cherished memories.

He spent his early years in Los Angeles before moving to San Diego, where he completed his high school education. His thirst for knowledge and skill led him to graduate from San Diego Junior College and Vocational School, setting the foundation for a successful career as a machinist.

On July 11, 1952, William married the love of his life, Marjorie Louise Constantino. Their union was blessed with six wonderful children: daughters Tina Cox, Diana Ward, and Angela Woods, and sons George Vorhauer, Allan Vorhauer, and Harry Vorhauer. Together, they created a warm and loving home filled with laughter, learning, and faith.

A man of faith, William joined the Church of Jesus Christ on September 29, 1957, and was sealed in the Los Angeles Temple on May 31, 1969. His dedication to his faith and community was a cornerstone of his life, providing him with strength, purpose, and a sense of belonging.

William's passions extended beyond his professional and spiritual commitments. He was an avid collector of guns and reloading equipment, a hobby that brought him great joy and camaraderie. His fascination with machinery and precision was also evident in his love for motorcycle riding, a pastime that allowed him to experience the freedom and thrill of the open road. In his youth, William was a proud member of the Boy Scouts of America, an experience that instilled in him values of leadership, responsibility, and service.

One of William's favorite places was the airport, where he spent countless hours watching planes take off and land, marveling at the marvels of aviation. This simple pleasure brought him immense happiness and a sense of wonder.

William was preceded in death by his beloved wife Marjorie, his son George Neil Vorhauer, and both of his parents.

He is survived by his daughters Tina Cox, Diana Ward, and Angela Woods, and his sons Allan Vorhauer and Harry Vorhauer. William's legacy also includes 25 grandchildren, 59 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren, each of whom carries forward his values, lessons, and love.

William Hugo Vorhauer's life was a testament to dedication, faith, and family. He touched the lives of many with his kindness, wisdom, and unwavering spirit. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A celebration of William's remarkable life will be held on Saturday August 31, 2024, at 12 pm at the Church of Latter-day Saints.
