Lonnie Stewart

Lonnie Dale Stewart Sr. passed away tragically on September,2024. He was born June 3, 1973, to Laberta Stewart and Gary Rides Horse Sr. In Crow Agency Montana. He was a member of the Piegan Clan and a child of the Ties the Bundle. Lonnie grew up in Crow Agency and was raised by his Maternal grandmother Daisy Leider. He later went to the Indian Placement program in Utah, attended St. Labre in Ashland Montana and attended Chemawa Indian School in Oregon.

Lonnie was a member of Faith Chapel Church in Billings, Montana and on his first Sunday of church services, he knew that Faith Chapel was his Church. He enjoyed Pastor Nates words as well the rest of the church family at Faith Chapel. In his early years he was a very hard worker and a body builder trainer, Lonnie was employed at Advanced and Express Personnel in Billings, Montana where he connected “right off the bat” which was one of his favorite sayings with the love of his life, best friend, and soulmate, Tina, he married on July 26, 2022. He enjoyed working various jobs with them, he was the “Jack of all Trades” as he would call it. He also enjoyed cooking, playing horseshoes, bowling, watching movies, listening to all kinds of music, and feeding the ducks. He loved his football games, Denver Broncos, and watching throughout the season (Superbowl Sunday) at his sister in laws home. Lonnie looked forward to the weekends to spend time and make special memories with his wife. He was a wonderful loving father and grandfather and enjoyed spending time with all his grandchildren, and he supported them in all their endeavors and was very proud of their accomplishments, and achievements. He enjoyed watching them participating in football, basketball, volleyball and wrestling. The love he had for his grandchildren was special and they will all miss him. He was known for his very caring nature.

Lonnie was preceded in death by his mother: Laberta Stewart, Grandmother Daisy Leider, his sons Lonnie Dale Stewart Jr. And Dale “DJ” St. Claire Jr, and many other relatives. Lonnie leaves behind his wife Tina LaHaye Stewart, his dad Gary Rides Horse Sr., daughters Nina Redfield Stewart, Katrina (Isaiah) Day, Shoshawna, Shakira (Wyatt) and Tanisha Stewart, sons; Lonnie III (Sharnae), Prince (Thalia), and Mekiah Stewart, 22 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren, his sisters, Natasha Rondeaux and Glendora (George) Goes Ahead, his brothers Roland Laforge, Gary Rides Horse Jr. And numerous aunts and uncles and nieces and nephews.

His extended families include Anderson, Stewart, Takes Horse, Rides Horse, Tobacco, White Fox, Froze, Yellowtail, White Clay, Two Leggins, Dawes, Bends,Pretty Paint, OldElk, Hunts Arrow, Pretty Weasel, Horse, Big Hair, and Wallace.
