Ronald Cellmer

Ronald Cellmer, 70, Billings, passed away Saturday, September 28, 2024 in a Billings MT Hospital.

Ronald Allen Cellmer was born May 28, 1954 to Maynard and Eva (Massin) Cellmer. He spent his youth in the community of Culbertson, MT and graduated from Culbertson High School in 1972.

After high school, Ron worked within the oil exploration industry primarily as a driller. This career allowed him to start his love for traveling the county.

In 1979, Ron married Gloria McNicholas. From that union, they welcomed children Heather and Christopher. After exploring the country together, they made their home in Minot, North Dakota. They later divorced.

In 1990, Ron married Vicki Stebbins in an outside ceremony at her parents' home in Bowman, North Dakota. Ron and Vicki called Utah, Nevada and Colorado their home before settling in Sturgis, South Dakota. Ronnie and Vicki worked together in the water well business which took them all over the united states. The Sturgis rally was an opportunity for family and friends to join them at their home to share in wonderful meals and take the opportunity to share stories on their deck and in the yard that many people (and animals) still call their “Happy Place”.

After Ron lost Vicki in 2013, he took to traveling through work again. He then settled in Billings, Montana to be close to family. Ron enjoyed having a great time. Anyone who knew him, knew that he was the life of the party and can probably still hear his laugh.

He is survived by his children: Heather (Michael) Brandt and Christopher Cellmer; grandson: Nicholas Cellmer all of Minot, ND; Siblings: Geraldine Pennell, Genny Nordmeyer, Henry (Lynnell) Cellmer, Patty Cellmer; brother-in-law: Frank Hughes; many niece, nephews, cousins and many, many friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; sister: Rosemary; brother-in-laws: Ronald Pennell and Howard Nordmeyer and special dog: Humphrey

A private family gathering will take place at a later date.
