Douglas Smith

Douglas Elbert Smith, the last of six children, was born to Elbert and Vera Smith on January 13th, 1964. He was born in the U.S. Naval Hospital in Oakland, California, and grew up in Sunnyvale, California, where he attended Elementary School, Jr. High School, and graduated from High School. He served four years in the United States Navy, from 1984 to 1988, from which he received an honorable discharge. Doug attended college in California, then went to a special school and worked hard to become a Certified Airline Mechanic. He did a variety of jobs over the years of his life but ended up enjoying his school bus driving jobs the most. Doug survived many struggles in life and had a loyal heart to the ones he loved, even if they didn't realize it at times. He loved being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in his last years and was an active and faithful member when he graduated to his Heavenly Home on November 20, 2024, at 60 years of age. Douglas is survived by his brother, Alan Smith, and his two sisters, Michele Roseborough and Patti Smith. He will be dearly missed in mortality, but we are happy for him to be "Home" with other loved ones who have gone before. 💝

There will be a memorial held in Doug's remembrance, on December 22, 2024, at 2:30 pm, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints chapel on 3600 West and Monad Road, in Billings, Montana 59102. All friends and family are welcome.
