Peter Turnsplenty

Peter James Turns Plenty (Pete), 47, tragically passed away on November 29, 2024. He was born on July 9,1977 in Crow Agency, MT to Alice Iron & Vernon Turns Plenty Sr.,

Pete grew up in Pryor, MT at his family home. He attended grade school at St. Charles and high school at Plenty Coups High School. While in grade school he and his cousin Archie Kenneth excelled in Cross Country and would often take turns taking first place. He also attended Senior High in Billings, MT and while there he lived with his aunt Verna. Growing up he enjoyed hunting with his father and brother. He also enjoyed his family camping trips in the Pryor Mountains. Peter would often be found wrestling with somebody.

Peter James got his name from his late Uncle Aaron James (AJ) Turns Plenty and Marvin (Cottontail) Stewart. In the summer of 1999 Peter met Koren (Korey) Plainbull. They later made their home in Hardin, MT. They were together for 14 years. He took very good care of Korey up until her passing in 2013. At that time he worked as a wildland firefighter for BIA forestry working his way up to a crew boss. He held this position for 15 years. From 2013-2015 his mother Alice often had a full house with he and his sisters Teresa, her three youngest children, Mary Adele & Geralyn. During that time he worked with Teresa at Absaalooke Nights Casino. It was there he met Hannah Small and they fell in love. Peter moved to Billings, MT with Hannah and have been together ever since for 10 years. He worked as a laborer for Western Sugar for the past 10 years. Peter was a quiet humble man who loved his family.

Peter is proceeded in death by his father Vernon Turns Plenty Sr., his Maternal grandparents Frank and Winona Faye Walking Bear- Iron, paternal grandparents Ralph & Rose DeCrane- Turns Plenty, Maternal aunts and uncles Miriam Iron, Gail Iron- Wilburn, Lenora Pretty Weasel-Hill, Virjama Iron- Plainbull, Larry Pretty Weasel Sr., Leonard Lamont Pretty Weasel, Leland Walking Bear, Frank Iron Jr., & Mike Iron. Paternal aunts & unclesSylvia Gone, Priscilla Nez Perce, Charlene Laverdure, Verna Turns Plenty, Sammy, David, Wayne, Chester & AJ Turns Plenty.

He is survived by his wife Hannah Small, step-children Destiney & Emileo Small, Father-n -law Henry (Sarah) Small, Mother Alice Iron, Brother Vernon ( Joey) Turns Plenty Jr. (Elizabeth Sperry) Sisters, Teresa (Brett) Turns Plenty, Geralyn Faye, & Mary Adele. Nieces, Alyssia (Micah) & Marie Backbone, Dakota & Arionne Hahn. Maternal aunts Suzanne Iron & Delma Jean Howe. Paternal Aunts Lucy, Mary ,Avalon & Adora Turns Plenty. Paternal uncle Calvin Brush. Grandmother Agnes Goes Ahead- Pretty Weasel. Numerous cousins too many to mention, Family also include Turns Plenty, DeCrane, Goes Ahead, Iron Williamson, Dust,Walks Over Ice, Brass, Yellowmule, Star-Black Hawk, Otter Stays in the water, Bear Ground, Whitman, Spotted Horse, Walking Bear, Nez Perce, Bad Bear, Hill, Wall, Dawes, Susie Yellowtail, Tillie Walking Bear- Howe family, Clara Hill-Bends Family.
