Melanie Lynn Amunrud-Vincelette passed away on December 2, 2024, at her home in Billings, MT after complications due to a lifelong illness. She was 33 years old.


A true Montana native and a wild soul at heart, Melanie was born in Livingston, MT on June 28, 1991, to Mike and Annette Amunrud. Blessed with a brilliant mind, Melanie had 2 degrees in the medical field and was also working on a 3rd degree. She utilized these degrees in her work at Billings Clinic, where she was a Patient Access Specialist. Though she had a knack for working in the medical field, Melanie's talents really shone in her hobbies and passions. She had an impressive creative and artistic streak and had dreams of opening up a boutique that sold and manufactured everything she cared about: clothing, accessories, antiques, potions, and a touch of magic – an apothecary for the hippie soul in all of us. She loved collecting rocks and fossils, hiking, and gardening and was always drawn to nature and history. Melanie was a beautiful blend of nature-loving hippie and party-loving rocker chick; she never said no to a concert and had an eclectic taste in music. Not many people could match her knowledge of music, records, or the bands she loved.


Those who knew her said that she was warm-hearted, kind-spirited, creative, eccentric, stronger than most, and beautiful inside and out. She was a fiercely loyal friend and a loving and caring daughter. She was independent, free, and had the warmest smile of anyone in the world.


Melanie leaves behind a wonderful family, who all appreciated her love, generosity, strength, and beauty. She has a daughter, Autumn, with Paul Vincelette, as well as Paul's children Chris, Jake, Elleigha, and Kyuss. She leaves behind her parents, Annette and Mike, a younger sister, Michaela Hamblock, and her grandparents Gerald and Barbara Ridings. She is also survived by her Uncle Leroy and Kathy Amunrud, Lenny, and Laura Amunrud, and Time and Jennifer Ridings, as well as many cousins. She also leaves behind a dog, Han Solo, who was her protector, and whom she loved very much.


To those who would like to celebrate her life and who were hell-bent for hippie chicks, there is a funeral being planned for next year in June in Livingston, MT. She will be missed tremendously and those who loved her will be honored to see her again when the time comes.

You were my best friend and a truly beautiful person. We held each other's newborns, helped eachother pick out wedding dresses, bonded over our silly and unique hobbies, and were always there to listen to eachother. You realized what a worthy and beautiful person you were and showed me the true meaning of strength. You had the best smile and the most wonderful laugh, and I miss that more than anything. I met you nearly 13 years ago and we all lost you too soon. I am grateful and honored that our paths crossed and never separated. I love you, my dear friend. I never said it enough.

Melanie was a wonderful daughter she loved rocks, music, art, and was a very giving person. I will forever miss her and it's hard to believe that I can't call her up and talk to her anymore. Melanie was also a wonderful Mom as well. Rest in peace my daughter I love you so much!!! I found a poem that she wrote that sums up how I feel and will share. In Memory Never had I seen such a day the rain fell heavily with sorrow and the sky was bleak. Hearts throbbed with pain but with no life to be withdrawn the rain and tears were in rhythm. Loved ones not the same. Never had I seen such a day of emptiness and pain. The final memories I treasure the most Had I known these words would mean more but, still my feelings none the less sore. As the years and days go by, all the more I wish I could have said, good-bye.
