Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Michael Dean Bear Tusk, known to his friends and family as "MD" or "Sporto," on December 10, 2024, at the age of 61.
Born on March 30, 1963, in Yellowstone County, Michael grew up in Pryor, Billings, and Birney. He lived a full life, finding joy in both work and leisure.
In life, Michael worked as a fire fighter and mechanic. Outside of work, he was well-known for his love of adventure, often cruising on his bike and spending time with friends at his favorite spot in South Park. He loved listening to reggae, and his many stories will be cherished by all who know him. Michael also had a special place in his heart for visiting Auntie Annie (casino) and enjoyed his usual cup of coffee with two sugars.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph Bear Tusk Sr. and Gertrude Old Crane, as well as his siblings, grandparents, aunts, uncles, daughter, and grandson.
He is survived by his parent Shelly Ace Big Lake, daughters Leota Bear Tusk and April (Juan) Bear Tusk, son Juan (Sonny Boy), sisters Dawn (Edwin), Bobby Jean, and Tina RedStar, brothers Levi and Rueban Bear Tusk, 21 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.
Michael's legacy will live on through his family and the many lives he touched. Rest in peace, MD/Sporto – you will be missed.
