Robert Lang

Robert Lee Lang was born on September 24, 1930, to Edwin Daniel Lang and Mary Josephine Hupka in Delmont, South Dakota.

He lived in several Nebraska communities and had fond memories of Howells, Nebraska. Dad told stories of working a plow, following behind the business end of a horse and of cooking hamburgers while Lawrence Welk played a dance in their town. He watched Lawrence Welk every Saturday evening.

When he graduated from high school, he joined the Navy. He figured a bunk was better than a foxhole and served his time. When he left the Navy, he followed his sisters to Montana and got a job with Mountain Bell. It was while working for Mountain Bell, that he met the love of his life Miriam Kern in Hardin, MT. They were married 60 years and had 3 children, 3 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren (with one more on the way), and 1 great, great grandchild.

Dad loved to travel, and he and Mom took a number of cruises and bus trips seeing Hawaii, Alaska, the Panama Canal, and a riverboat down the Mississippi. They took bus trips to see the fall colors in New England and the southwest. Dad was an avid woodworker and handyman, building furniture for his grandkids and doing projects around the house. Dad was a faithful member of Evangelical United Methodist Church and helped at Camp on the Boulder for many years.

Dad's kindness and his sense of humor will be missed by many.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:30pm on Saturday January 25, 2025 at the Evangelical United Methodist Church, 345 Broadwater Avenue, Billings, Montana.

Robert will be laid to rest at the Yellowstone National Cemetery in Laurel, Montana at a later date.
