Pauline Reaves

Pauline Pearl (Perovich) Reaves went to be with the Lord, January 4th, 2025. Pauline lived a very adventurous life. To write about her life would be an award winning book! She was two months shy of her 92nd Birthday. Pauline was born to Alex and Pearl Perovich on February 26, 1933, in Wasta, South Dakota; she often spoke of fond childhood memories with her eight siblings, Jonny being her partner in crime until his last breath, two years ago. Pauline started a family with Frank Hammond having their only child, Lavonne. Pauline was an exceptional mother, their bond was unequaled. Pauline was well connected to her family, she loved all her relatives dearly. She cherished her three grandchildren, Roger (Jyton), Lee, and Erin Schrotenboer. Later on, Pauline married Robert Reaves who took her to see the world!

Pauline was a special lady who touched many lives. Wherever she went, people loved and respected her. Even on her deathbed, people came to pay their respects from knowing her visiting someone else in the facility. She understood and valued people and showed great compassion to all she encountered. She wanted everyone to be happy and well. Pauline was humble and loving, yet a strong and independent woman who was self-determined to make her own unique way. Although her kindness was not to be mistaken for weakness. Her resiliency in life was admirable. No matter what circumstances befell her, she always found joy in them and accepted her fate, knowing God would do what was right for her and those involved. She understood people and showed great compassion.

Pauline hardly complained or asked for help. She was clever and witty as she navigated through life. Her humor was notable. She had such passion for life as she enjoyed traveling and experiencing the world. Pauline held herself in a sophisticated manner, resembling a super star. She was extremely talented and creative and took delight in art, poems, and the culinary arts. Some of her hobbies included; horse and dog races, garage sales, and golf. She loved music, her favorite genre is country with Johnny Cash being her favorite musician.

Pauline was a light in this world and realized living life was an expression of imagination and adventure. She discovered her own unique way to approach this wonderful life and she made an impression on many with her bold spirit. We find comfort in knowing that our loved one is with the Lord in that we will be reunited with her in heaven.
