Jere - I am sorry to read of Sharmon's death. We renewed our acquaintance at a class reunion a few years ago and planned to meet up again but that never happened. She and I were in 4-H then attended Senior High.

I was friends with Sharmon for over 50 years. Our sons grew up together and remained friends until Donovan passed away. We had many great adventures in both Denver and Montana. I was from Iowa. On holidays, we would go to either her house or mine and cook a feast. We would invite all of our friends who had no family in Denver to celebrate and have some "family" time. There were usually about 15 or so people. It took quite a bit of time to shop and cook. One year we went out to have a few drinks before shopping. To say we were tipsy was an understatement. As we were picking out our turkey, Sharmon leaned too far over and went headfirst into the freezer section holding the turkeys. Legs pretty much up in the air type of fall. We were laughing so hard, it was nearly impossible to get her out again. Somehow, e managed to do this with no one around. We finally got our turkey and cooked a fabulous dinner. Sharmon was a wonderful, dear friend. She was smart, kind, loving and considerate. She was always willing to lend a hand or support where it was needed. She was a great friend. She made a big difference in my life. I shall honor her memory for the rest of my life.

Sharmon and Marty were my neighbors and we had many great moments together. I loved the stories Sharmontold about growing up in Billings and the different adventures she had with her parents. She will be missed! Tex Janecek
