Paul Patek

Paul William Patek passed away on February 6, 2025.

Born and raised in Billings in 1967, Paul was the beloved son of Susan and the late Bill Patek. He pursued his education at Eastern Montana College (Montana State University-Billings), earning a B.A. in Political Science. Paul dedicated 14 years to teaching and counseling in Joliet and Billings, sharing his wisdom and compassion with countless students. Later, he embraced his entrepreneurial spirit, becoming the sole proprietor of a Fed Ex ground services route before taking over Big Sky Inflatables. Through his business, Paul found immense joy in serving his community by bringing smiles to children's faces.

Paul met his wife, Deena, in 1986, and they married on August 8, 1992, cherishing 32 wonderful years together. They built a life filled with love, laughter, and shared experiences. They were blessed with two daughters, Melissa and Britney, who valued their time with their father. Paul's favorite memories with his family included fishing trips and heartfelt conversations about life. In the last year of his life, he was overjoyed to spend precious moments with his grandson, and little buddy, Logan, who brought him immense happiness.

Paul had a lifelong passion for sports, which began in his teenage years with racquetball and later transitioned to playing handball with his father. Recently, he discovered pickleball and quickly grew to love the game. His enthusiasm for staying active and engaged with others was evident in all that he did, showcasing his competitive spirit and zest for life. Additionally, Paul was active in various men's church groups, where he found camaraderie and spiritual growth.

Paul was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Raymond Nelson and George Patek; grandmothers, Nellie Nelson and Maxine Patek; and father, William Patek. He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Deena Patek; daughters, Melissa Songer and Britney Patek; son-in-law, Ian Songer; grandson, Logan Songer; mother, Susan Patek; sisters, Marci Herriford (Jeff) and Jami Wight (Tim); brother, Gregory Patek (Amy); as well as many other extended family members who held a special place in his heart.

A service to honor Paul's life will be held on February 21st, 2025, at 3 p.m. in Billings, MT at Faith E Church.

Paul's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him, as a loving husband, devoted father, doting grandfather, and cherished friend. His legacy of kindness, passion, and dedication will be remembered and celebrated by all whose lives he touched.
