Frank Riesinger

Frank C. Riesinger, 96, of Roundup, MT, formally of Laurel, MT, passed away peacefully at home on March 1, 2025, after a recent fall.

     He was born December 7, 1928 in Lefor, North Dakota. He was the second child born to Joseph K. and Louisa (Kurtz) Riesinger.  He lived briefly in Pompeys Pillar, MT & Absarokee, MT before settling in Laurel with his parents.   He attended Laurel schools until 1943 when he went to work for the Northern Pacific Railroad on the Section Gang for over 45 years.

     Married Mina Ann Magnus, September 8, 1951, in Laurel Catholic Church. They were married for 54 years, He was drafted into the Korean war in August 1952 & served 2 years in the infantry, received good contact metal, national defense service medal, honorable discharge upon returning to Laurel. He built a home on 1st Avenue and resided there until September of 1988. Frank did contract cement and fence work, and worked 15 years in the Laurel Slaughter Plant. They moved to Roundup in retirement. And built a home in the Bull Mountains, later selling and moving closer to town. He enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, crafts, wood and metal work. He enjoyed feeding the birds, deer, rabbits and any wildlife that came along.

   He was preceded in death by; His parents, wife, Mina Ann, daughter Lee Ann Story, sons Miles, Joe, and Lawrence, great-grandson Darrell, brothers Andy & Mike Riesinger.

   Frank is survived by; his 7 children and spouses, Alan (Jo Ann) Riesinger of Lake Stevens, WA,  Steve Story of Park City, MT,  Katrina Riesinger of Roundup, MT, Anita (George) Worden of Park City, MT, Cindy (Tracy) Gabbert of Glendive, MT, Doeanna Riesinger of Roundup, MT, Tina (Benj) Riesinger of Laurel, MT,  Lisa (Joe) Yedlicka of Fromberg, MT, Fritz (Vicki) Riesinger of Park City, MT, and Christopher (Jennifer) Riesinger of Lemmon, SD;  20 grandchildren;  57 great- grandchildren; 3 great - great grandchildren; one brother Ed (Carol) Riesinger of Billings, MT, one sister-in-law Delores Riesinger of Laurel, MT, many nieces and nephews and cousins.

   Family and friends will meet for a military honors service on June 12, at time 2:00 p.m. , at the Yellowstone National Veterans Cemetery in Laurel, Montana.
