Arlene Logan

Arlene Lenora (Visser) Logan, age 92, passed away on March 7th, 2025, in Billings, MT. She was born to Peter and Alvina Visser in Circle, MT, on November 25th, 1932. Peter and Alvina raised Arlene and her 4 siblings in Circle, where she graduated from high school. Arlene married LaVaine Logan on July 27th, 1951. They lived in Brockwa,y MT, Circle MT, Moscow ID, Othello WA, and Fairfield WA. She moved to Billings in 2019.

Arlene and LaVaine had a floating cabin on CDA Lake where they spent many hours fishing, eating apple fritters, watching hummingbirds, and laughing at happy hour with their friends, family, and neighbors. Arlene loved the cabin even though she didn't swim. Family was very important to her, and she enjoyed hosting get-togethers. Her cooking and baking will be fondly remembered, especially her chocolate cake with caramel frosting, cinnamon rolls, molasses cookies, breads, and jams. Arlene loved to play cards, and family meals were normally followed by a few hands of 31 where she taught the rest of the family how to lose with grace. She went easy on the grandkids up to a certain age, then they each found out how good at cards she truly was.

Arlene and LaVaine's home and float cabin always had beautiful flowers that she grew, as well as a thriving Christmas cactus inside that she had gifted to her own mother years before. She spent a lot of her time gardening, making her house a home for her family, and enjoying the view of Mica Peak.

Arlene is preceded in death by her husband, LaVaine Logan, Parents- Peter and Alvina Visser, brothers- Harvey and Daryl Visser, and sister- Verna Yarger. She is survived by her children- Joan (Lonnie) Pawlowski of Joliet, MT, Jackie (David) Schillinger of Vida, MT, and Jerry (Judy) Logan of Fairfield, WA, and six grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Also survived by her brother Delhart (Jean) Visser of Kalispell, MT.

Graveside services will be May 24th, 2025, at 1 pm at the Brockway Cemetery.
