Obituary

Sue Ellen Pett was born on July 26, 1948, to Dorothy and Elmer “Dutch” Rademacher. She joined older brother Ed.


She married Donald Pett in 1975, and in 1978 they welcomed a son, Brandon. The couple later divorced in 2000.


Brandon married Kirsten Horn in 2010, and in 2016 they welcomed a baby girl, Abigail Ellen.


Sue loved being a grandma and adored spending time with “our girl”, Abby. The many Saturday night sleepovers the two of them shared were treasured by them both (as well as Abby's parents).


Sue was creative, passionate, and caring. She loved taking care of people and made many friends when she worked at Gibson's Department Store, for Dr. Ruben Sanchez, and in medical billing at Eide Bailey.


Sue showed her true character of strength and courage in the last three years of her life following complications from cervical surgery. Sue passed peacefully on March 7th, 2025, surrounded by Brandon, Kirsten, and her closest friends Sandra Wagner and Shirley Mackney.


As she requested, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will take place at Grace United Methodist Church 1935 Avenue B, Billings Montana, on Sunday, June 8th, at 2 pm.

Sue is preceded in death by her parents, and is survived by her son, Brandon (Kirsten) and granddaughter, Abby.


Brandon and Kirsten would like to thank the staff and residents of Laurel Health and Rehabilitation, Gallaghers Assisted Living, and Stillwater Hospice for the care, compassion, and friendship they provided Sue. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Family Service, or just by spending time outside planting flowers.

Sue was one of the kindest, thoughtful human beings this world will ever see. She always treats our family with love and respect, and treated our son McCrae as if he was her own. From teaching me ceramics at a young age, to seeing her greet McCrae every Halloween with gifts and love, Sue was so special in every way. You will be missed Sue!

Sharol Hall I am Sue’s sister in law and spent 22 years living her. She was absolutely the greatest aunt to my 4 children. Everyone needs someone like her their life. She took care of more than one aunt and uncle at the end of their lives. She was the best daughter to her mother as she aged with a call everyday to check in with her. I know her granddaughter was the light of her life. She will be missed but her shining light will live on.
