Obituary

Benjamin Dean May passed away on March 9, 2025, at the age of 52. Ben was born on September 15, 1972.


Early on in life, Ben had a strong passion for street bikes and anything with wheels, power, and speed. As Ben pursued his passion for horsepower, he developed and showed off his skills to all. Ben also enjoyed music and video games. As a cat and fish owner, he built a strong love for his pets and had a soft spot for the less fortunate and animals. Being the oldest, he taught his younger brother and sister and his two daughters about name brands, especially his love for Nike products.


Ben is preceded in death by his parents, Ronnie May and Karen Peterson, maternal and paternal grandparents.

Ben leaves behind his life partner Olivia Mitchell, daughters, Takia, and Amellia (Owen) all of Billings, Montana. Sister, Takara, brother, Jared, and stepmom Bobby May, all of Plattsburg, Missouri. And many friends and family members.


Special thanks to the Lockwood Fire/EMT department and Dr. Parker at Intermountain Healthcare and extra thanks to Tracey Larsen. Ben's service will be held this Saturday, March 15th, 2025, at 10 am at Dahl Funeral Chapel, located at 10 Yellowstone Avenue, Billings, MT 59101. Reception to follow.

Ben was the cutest baby when he was born. His smiling face and mischievous grin got himself much attention. As he got older he was quite the charmer. He and his Gramma Helen were the best of friends and he knew with her, he could do no wrong. She loved him unconditionally. Life in his younger years was tough but he made up for it as he got older. As a teenager he lived in Billings with his Gramma and Grampa Nielson until his Grandmother passed. As a kid he loved rock picking and fishing with the guys. He and Gramma helen would make bags of goodies and hygiene kits for homeless and deliver them together. Benjamin I'm proud of the life you led and the person you became as an adult.
