Raymond McBride

Raymond “Ray” Eugene McBride died on March 30, 2025 in Billings, Montana. Ray was born in Roundup, Montana to Clifford H. McBride and Melva T. (Wells) McBride. Ray spent his early childhood in Lavina, graduating from high school there.

After receiving a master's degree from MSU Billings, he taught English in Montana and overseas. He found himself teaching the English language to eighty elementary kids on the small island of Ponape for 3 years. Then onto Samoa in 1972-1973 and spent the rest of his career in different locations and different jobs in Saudia Arabia. His resume was extensive.

Raymond's hobbies were, of course, traveling anywhere. He had many, many friends from all over the world. He was dedicated to Our Lord Jesus Christ and Savior. He studied the Word and taught the Scriptures. He grew up with the Community of Christ Church which was the foundation of his strong Christian beliefs.

Raymond was a very giving person. He helped 5 Ponape boys through college here in the United States. He also helped his family whenever asked to help however he could.

He was preceded in death by his father Clifford and mother Melva McBride as well as his two sisters Veda Helmey and Louanna Ball.

Joseph adopted Raymond as his dad, with Raymond calling Joseph his son. Raymond had an abundance of nieces and nephews. We all have special memories of our uncle.

A funeral service will be held at 2pm on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at Community of Christ Church in Billings, Montana. His burial will be in Lavina Cemetery at a later date.
