Maureen Jewell

Maureen Jewell passed away on April 15, 2025, from a series of illnesses. She was born in Salt Lake City, then raised in Arizona. She was the second born of 5 children, had 3 sisters and one brother. As a young girl, Maureen was riding, training, and competing on horses. She had horses all her life.

She met her life partner, Clarece, at Northern Arizona University while completing her B.S. degree. After they both taught for a couple of years, they moved to the southeast. Maureen and Clarece completed a master's degree and then moved to Montana. The horses came too. Horse activities included pleasure riding, horse camping, trail riding, and later, endurance racing on horseback. She loved that the most.
