Thomas Crow, Sr

Thomas Mitchell Crow was also known by his Crow name, “Baa'sanish” Goes First, a name given to him by his great-grandfather Samuel Plain Feather. He entered this world in Billings, MT on March 21, 1990. He was the second child of Lori Ann Stewart and Richard Crow, Jr. Tom was a member of the Greasy Mouth Clan and a child of the Big Lodge Clan. He was raised by his maternal great-grandparents Irvin and Sarah Sings Good. He resided in the community of Pryor his entire life. He attended St. Charles Mission School and Plenty Coups High School.

Thomas' greatest accomplishment was being the best dad to his five children. You hardly saw him without one of his babies. His first son Charmer is his twin, in both looks and temperament. Tom's pride and joy was his first daughter, Zariah Zoe. She was his little princess and always treated her with love. He was especially close to his youngest son Jr., teaching him how to throw arrows and showing him how to be a good man. Thomas was very blessed to have twins, Jessie and Ta'mae. Jessie was so attached to her daddy; you would always see him carrying her. Even though she is the strongest and toughest of his babies. Ta'mae was always walking not far behind. Of all his babies she acts like him the most, having no fear, being very independent and looking out for her siblings. He always lovingly referred to his girls as his “pretty girls”. Most recently Tom was proud to have purchased a home for him and his babies.

Tom was a jack of all trades, working moving jobs, construction, and carpentry. He had many other skills including arrow throwing, hunting, and basketball. He was very proud to have taken second at the Lodge Grass Arm wrestling contest. He was a master chef and pan bread maker. He loved cooking for his family and in-laws.

Tom had a very close bond with his siblings, Rich, Irvin and Ashley. His best friend in this whole world was his oldest brother, Rich. Growing up they were the exact opposite: Tom was the wild child, always making us laugh and uplifting our spirits. We knew he was going to be a good dad from the beginning, as he stepped up and helped raise his little brother Irvin. He loved his sister Ashley so much; she was going to move into his trailer with him. He was known to tease everyone and was not afraid to laugh at himself. He was also one of the strongest men in our family, and our protector.

Also surviving him are close relatives from the following families: Crow, Stewart, Sings Good, Pease, LaForge, Sun Goes Slow, LeftHand, Stands Over the Bull, PlainFeather, Rock Above, Beaumont, Simpson, Whiteman. The Pryor community, his Clan, and the arrow-throwing community mourn the loss of Thomas Crow.

He entered the gates of heaven on August 23, 2022, and was greeted by family members he loved and missed: Rich Crow, Beatrice Belton, Samuel and Adeline Plain Feather, Clayton Falls Down, Millie Plain Feather, Russell Plain Feather, Tiki Crow, Sarah and Irvin Sings Good, Harlan Sun Goes Slow, Tyler and Anna Jean Lefthand, Eymard LeftHand, Darrell, Darnell, Darwin LeftHand, Ronnie, Levi and Steven Beaumont.

Funeral service will be at Dahl Funeral Chapel on Monday, August 29, 2022, at 12 noon. He will be buried above his brother Rich in the family cemetery in Pryor.
