Robert Lietaert Jr

Robert Joseph Lietaert Jr., age 73, of Billings, Montana, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2021. As the oldest of 14 children, Bob was born on June 15, 1948, in Mount Clemens, Michigan to Robert Sr. and Mildred (Houthoofd) Lietaert. He attended De La Salle High School where he graduated in 1966. Bob married Carol Ellen DeWitt on October 12, 1968. Together they raised three sons. Sadly, she preceded him in death on July 2, 1983. Bob spent much of his career in sales and finance at various car dealerships. He also spent several years working for the Rimrock Foundation and volunteering at the local animal shelter. He enjoyed spending time with friends and family. To cherish his memory, Bob leaves his three sons: Glenn (Adele) Lietaert of Monroe, Michigan, and Michael Lietaert and Matthew (Erin) Lietaert, both of Billings, Montana; his six grandchildren: Phoebe, Libbie, Sheldon, Teagan, Eden, and Dylan; his siblings Mary Williams of California; Tom (Julie) Lietaert, John Lietaert, Bernie Lietaert, and Don Lietaert, all of Florida, Christine (Larry) Houvouras of Texas; Marguerite (John) Reinhard, Joseph (Susan) Lietaert, Pat (Beth) Lietaert, Charlie (Angela) Lietaert, and Mark (Dawn) Lietaert, all of Michigan; brother-in-law, Wayne Milodrowski, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his siblings, James Lietaert and Kathleen Milodrowski, and his in-laws Roy and Lela DeWitt. A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, November 18, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. at Holy Cross Cemetery. A luncheon will follow at the Hampton Inn and Suites on Ember Lane. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Bob's memory to the Rimrock Foundations in Billings.
