Charlie Vallie I

Charlie Shane Vallie III was born on April 13, 2003, to Kathy Vallie and the late Mark Whiteman. As he was affectionately known, Charlie Bear made his journey to the other camp in the early morning hours of July 8, 2021. Charlie was a kind and caring soul with no malice in his heart. From a very young age, Charlie could soften even the toughest character with his sweet and friendly ways. He was the kind of person who cared deeply for others and was always there to help someone through a difficult time Charlie made friends quickly, acquiring many while attending Billings Senior High School as well as online. He was preparing to enter his senior year in the fall and had plans to join Job Corps or enter military service after graduation. He also wanted to work at the Billings animal shelter. Charlie loved listening to music, animals (especially dogs),cooking, and was an avid Xbox player (always online). He enjoyed fishing, camping, and spending time with his nieces and nephews. When he was a young boy, Charlie entered the Powwow circle as a grass dancer. Charlie is survived by his mother, Kathy Vallie, brother; Ace (Kirsten) Vallie, Donovon (Tristen) Vallie, Thorpe Fire Bear – Jefferson, Malachai “Stoney” Ridge Bear, and George Woodenlegs. Sister; Christina Whiteman. Nephews; Donavon, Ace Jr., Geovauni, George, Jr., and Cassius. Nieces; A'ariya, Mahlyka, Peyton, and Lydia. Uncles; Charles Vallie, Ralph Brown, Jr., Armin Vallie, and Vince (Carneshia) Quigg. His relatives and extended family include; Whiteman, Brady, Woodenlegs, HiWalkers, Wolf Black, Big Foot, Gardner, and Foote. Charlie had adopted family, siblings, and friends that are too numerous to name. We apologize if we missed anyone, as our family is large. Charlie is preceded in death by his father, Mark Whiteman, Paternal Grandparents; Ivor Whiteman and Ursula Brady, Maternal Grandparents; Charlie and Edna Vallie, Jr., Judy Woodenlegs. Aunt; Christine Whiteman, Uncles; David Vallie, Sr., and David John Whiteman. Cousins: Georgia, George, Eugene, and Richard Whiteman. Charlie is a direct decendent of Chief Little Wolf of the Northern Cheyenne Tribe. A visitation for Charlie will be at Dahl Funeral Chapel, 10 Yellowstone Avenue, Billings, MT, on Thursday, July 15th, 2021 from 12 – 8pm. A wake service will be held at the Mennonite Church in Lame Deer on Friday, July 16th, 2021 from 7pm – Midnight. Funeral Services will be held at the Mennonite Church in Lame Deer on Saturday, July 17th, 2021 at 11am. Internment will follow at the Alison Bixby Memorial Cemetery. “We will always carry your memory in our hearts.”
