Reuben Bear Tusk,

Reuben Bear Tusk Sr. "Mo'ehemeo'o" (Elk Road), 87, joined our heavenly father peacefully surrounded by family on October 20, 2020. He was an enrolled, Northern Cheyenne member, born to his parents Jerome Bear Tusk and Ida Littleyellowman on June 28, 1933 in Lame Deer Montana. He was raised in Busby but attended school in Lame Deer and later enlisted into the U.S. Army in 1950 during the Korean War. He received National, United Nations and Korean Service medals with one Bronze star following his Honorable Discharge in 1955. Reuben was a devout catholic and dedicated husband, married his loving wife, Alvina Old Crane on Christmas Eve in 1958. Together they lived in Pryor where he founded the Pryor Boxing Club made up of his sons, family and friends. After training and traveling with his fighters he produced several Golden Glove Champions. He loved hunting, fishing and camping with his family as well as attending pow-wows and loved watching his grandkids dance. He worked for the B.I.A Road Department, and Sugar Beet Factory in Billings and in his spare time handed down his auto mechanic abilities to his sons and grandsons. After retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his family where he shared many cherished stories. Thank you for your endless love and devotion. We will forever love and miss you! His wife and parents; his sons Don Allen Bear Tusk, Randi and Olin Red Star; grandson, Sheldon Bear Tusk; brothers Kenneth, Jerome, Ralph and Don Allen Bear Tusk; sisters Alice White Wolf, Myrtle Pittman, Gladys Fisher; Nephews Ralph Bear Tusk, Jr., Isadore White Wolf, Oliver Glen Sr., Bernard Little Head; Niece April Bear Tusk preceded him in death. Survivors include his sons Levi Sr., Reuben Jr., and Levi Bear Tusk Jr. (whom he raised as his own), Eugene Sr. and Sealmer Sr. Red Star; daughters Theodoris and Tina Red Star, Noreen LaForge; sister Bertha Freeman; grandsons; Lenny and Leon Bear Tusk, Bryan Hutchinson, Benny and Melvin Asencio, Brian, Sealmer Jr. and Jonas Red Star, Elroy Hendricks III, Ruben Little Head, Keshawn Big Hail, Davion, Draden, Jairus and Lyle Bear Tusk, Sheldon Plain Bull; granddaughters; Rosemarie and Fawn Bear Tusk, Maggie, Denalene and Kaneeta Asencio, Brianne Hendricks- Rogers, Lakeisha Big Hail, Cameron Plain Bull, Marita Glasgow, Michaela, Leota and April Bear Tusk, Quana and Lujuana Old Crane; nephews Michael Dean, Terry, Keith and Ronnie Bear Tusk; nieces Rebecca Brady-Spicer, Linda, Pricilla and Cristine Freeman, Diana Freeman- Mclean, Mercedes Little Head, Debby and Janelle Bear Tusk. Reuben's family was large and he touched many lives, he has numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
