Victoria Stewart

Victoria Rose Stewart went to the other side camp on October 10th, 2019, at St. Vincent's Hospital. She was born on August 19th, 1944, to Richard Thomas DeCrane and Violet Josephine BirdinGround at the Crow IHS Hospital in Crow Agency, Montana. At the age of six months, she was adopted by Beulah DeCrane and Leo Stewart. She was a member of the Ties-in-a-bundle clan and was a child of the Greasy Mouth clan. Vicky grew up in Pryor and Billings, MT, staying in the Arrow Creek District the last three years. Vicky graduated from Flandreau Indian School in Flandreau, South Dakota. She attended and completed practical nursing school in California. She married Antonio Rodriguz, and they lived in Center, TX, where she worked in a Tyson Chicken Factory for many years. They later divorced. She was baptized and was a life time member of the St. Charles Catholic Church. She was Godmother to Georgia Buckingham, Violet Sanchez-Real Bird& Jodi Bull Tail. Victoria was a Sundancer. She preferred participating in the Arrow Creek District. Vicky mostly worked as a bartender in Billings. Her last job was at the Manor Health Care Center before moving back to Pryor. She also loved to babysit her nieces, nephews, and grandkids. Both sets of Victoria's parents, her grandparents Sampson BirdinGround Sr., Georgia Horse, Alexander DeCrane, and Sarah Bull That Shows; her brothers, Grant “Buckshot” Stewart, Arnold Stewart, Sr., Thomas, & his wife, Alma DeCrane; her sister, Saraphine DeCrane Sanchez. Her maternal aunts and uncles; Gretchen Stewart, Matthew Stops, Melda Goes Ahead, Ben Cloud Jr., Evelyn Old Elk, Agnes Holds, Edna Ethridge, Adam BirdinGround, Andrew BirdinGround, Sampson BirdinGround Jr., Gilbert BirdinGround Sr., Louise Three Irons, Chester Deputee, Rosebud Bull Tail, Glenn BirdinGround, Joy Brien, Alex BirdinGround, Samona Martin, and Verna Pease; her paternal aunts and uncles; Mary Dawes, Rose Turns Plenty, Josephine Whiteman, Charlie DeCrane, Vincent Goes Ahead Sr., Sylvester Goes Ahead, Clem Goes Ahead, and Gloria Cummins, nephew, Joseph Broken Rope, Jr., and grandson, Wes Spotted Bear, preceded her in death. Victoria is survived by her sisters; Dorothy (Max Sr.) Spotted Bear, Anna and Connie DeCrane, Janet Seestheground, Julie Hugs, & Renee Yellowtail, & brothers, Franklin Cloud, Leo Stewart & Mike (Dawn) Stewart. Vicky loved all her nieces and nephews: Max, Jr. Veronica Kay, Luke, Georgia, Delia, Janel, Gladys, McKinley, Richard, Velda, Roseanna, JC, Dorinda, Roberta, Thomas, Alex, Malissa, Emmanuel, Greg, Violet, Lusia, and Cris.: she had her favorites: Georgia, Alex, JC, Violet, Lusia, Cris, Nate, Edwardo, Manuel & Victoria (Tori). Her uncles, Clifford (Arith) BirdinGround, Danny (Mary Ruth) Plain Feather, & Roland (Kathy) Plain Feather, and aunts, Agnes (Larry) Pretty Weasel, Irma Jane Bird Hat, Warlene Comes Up, Pamela Little Light & Ruby Plain Feather. Vicky was a very social person, she had many cousin friends, some which include: Kathryn Pretty On Top, Leland Stewart, Cletus, Justin, Ronald & Thomas Round Face, Stanford Rides Horse, Royce Old Elk, Cristobal, Bertha Gone, and Barbara BirdinGround. Some of her cousin friends that have passed on include: Vernie Turns Plenty, Elias Goes Ahead, Terry Jean Plain Bull, Deann and Susie Round Face and Velma (Cookie) Bellrock.
