Anne Preston Finley

Anne Margaret Preston Finley, 66, Billings, passed away peacefully in here home surrounded by family on July 30, 2019. Anne was born in Kent, England, December 11, 1952, to Robert Preston and Grace (Bond) Preston. At the age of 2 Anne's family moved to British Columbia, Canada. At the age of 12 Anne's family relocated to Los Angeles, CA. Anne graduated high school, got married and had her beautiful daughter Michelle in Los Angeles. Anne worked during the day and attended night school, while being a Mom, to achieve her degree in bookkeeping. In 1977 Anne made a quality of life move to Montana. In her early 50's Anne met the love of her life, Mac Finley. They had the best time together going to Norm's Island, driving the backroads in Mac's car (yes, he had his own car) and just being the best companions to each other. Anne loved all things Montana, eating at Café Regis in Red Lodge, shopping at the “secret shop” in Huntley, R&R Trading and the Montana Bale Trail. Anne had a true zest for life! She was a straight shooter, very witty, a great counselor, hard worker and extremely loyal. Anne loved quilting, gardening, being creative, tea parties, listening to music, dancing, a true fashionista but most of all just having fun! Anne had a great pocket of people surrounding her all she held dearly to her heart…and all loved her the same right back. Anne is survived by her loving daughter, Laura Michelle Gabaldon of Billings; her cats, Buddy and Ruby; brother, Robert Lloyd Preston of Surrey B.C.; sister, Jessica Lynn Preston of Mission, B.C.; brother, Edward Grant Preston of Deroche, B.C.; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins. Anne was preceded in death by her parents and the love of her life, Mac Finley. Anne had a celebration of life on Thursday, August 1, 2019. Many of her family and friends shared stories and sent her off in the glory she deserved. In lieu of flowers please make a donation in Anne's name to the American Cancer Society
